Exclusive bottle design for the 150th anniversary celebration.
At Grupo Berro, we understand design as a key communication tool serving the objectives of brands. Therefore, when we received the commission to develop a new bottle to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Anís del Mono, we understood that we were taking on a challenge that we, as a studio, love to face.
Anís del Mono is an anise brand, but at the same time, it is a country brand, a pioneer in the Spanish market that has been setting standards both in terms of product and design since its launch in 1872, and it has become the benchmark within the category. It is one of those brands that embodies elements and attributes from a specific era. Depicted in paintings by renowned artists and featured in Hollywood films.
After 150 years of trajectory, leadership has only consolidated, and in a market that is extremely regionalized like that of anise, Mono is the most universal brand in the category.
Anís del Mono is modernism, cultural identity, pride, and it is tradition while simultaneously being design, quality, distinction, and innovation. All of these elements are what we have tried to combine and balance in this development of this unique bottle. A structural design that is quite different from the iconic diamond bottle, but at the same time, with its sinuous lines, recreates the diamonds so well known of the brand through the transparencies of the anise. A design inspired by the work of Spanish artists who were able to create a universally recognized style through art and architecture.
