‘I believe that all projects are important, but some are special. When Marcos Martínez Castro called me to redesign Beata, I was filled with great emotion. Marcos is a close friend of Diego, my younger brother. I have known him since he was 4 years old. Seeing him today transformed into a great professional brings me joy and also pride. The responsibility and commitment this call generated for me were enormous. Designing his brand, which they had built together with Sofi, his wife, from scratch challenged me a lot. But as always, alongside my partners and the Grupo Berro team, I had no doubt that we would reach a good port’ commented Gonzalo Berro, founder of Grupo Berro.
Beata is a truly craft beer. It is one of the first Argentine brands to make quality craft beers. They are so high quality that their beers are awarded globally and respected by the most discerning palates in the craft beer market.
Marcos and Sofi started as a hobby in their apartment and gradually transformed it into a factory. Today, almost a decade later, Beata has an excellent factory in Villa Adelina, Buenos Aires, and from their “brewery home,” as they call it, they produce 8 types of beers, always ensuring the best quality.
For us, it was key to immerse ourselves in the process to add value from branding and packaging. Along with Marcos and Sofi, we toured the factory, saw the complete process of Beata, and also went through milestones in their history with them.
With all that information, we set out to design. Among the different territories presented, the chosen one was the one that featured a typography designed exclusively for Beata and an evolution of the “Wing” that took flight.
We applied, with a personal style, the typographies to all the signage of the factory. Together with muralists, we intervened in the walls and spaces of the Casa Cervecera so that the environment breathed the brand's DNA.
We designed the ‘tap handles,’ which are the handles to serve the beer. We designed them with the application of the “Wing,” giving significant visual prominence to the brand.
We also designed the entire line of beers in the new can format, creating a colorful family with personality.
The result
Today, the identity of Beata is on par with the quality of its beers.
The Casa Cervecera celebrated!!
Thanks to Sofi and Marcos for the trust!
