Furniture designed from waste materials commissioned by the DAL - Logistics Support Directorate, to equip the new facilities of the Water Casitas.
The search was focused on working with the industrial waste generated by the company in order to highlight the possible transformation of waste into a functional product through design as a key factor in value generation.
In the first stage, various types of waste found in the plants were surveyed, including what materials were used, what use they were given, what quantities were generated monthly, and whether there were recycling programs for those pieces, etc.
Finally, a series of unused and expired PVC pipes for water conduction were selected. With this material, equipment was designed for the "Water Casitas" whose main objective was to host various schools that visited to learn about the water purification process at Aysa's facilities.
Based on the needs of the space, a series of cloud seating modules were developed that could be used separately for 4 children to sit or combined into a large cloud for the entire classroom to sit on.
Project developed in collaboration with designer Luciana González Franco.
